Selection Of Work From 2006-08

In my recent work I use shapes from the natural world, biological, anatomical & geological. I extend, compress & transform the shapes first through drawing and later using paint. With the paint the forms acquires a kind of life of their own, it pushes them forward or into the space on the 2 dimensional surfaces.

Now I want colour on its own to create movement, and so I use strong, often contrasting colours.

To me the forms represent what is hidden, in nature & inside our bodies; what lies beneath the skin.
